Rooms in the Apothekertrakt

A place for encounters of an extraordinary kind!

Historic atmosphere for modern ideas

The Apothekertrakt on the east side of the Schönbrunn grounds offers you manifold options as a versatile event centre. It is the ideal setting  not only for meetings and conferences, but also exhibitions, trade fairs, dinnersand weddings.

The ten rooms differ in size and flair and are all connected by spacious, light-flooded break areas. What is so impressive about them is the harmonious interplay between historical building substance and modern adaptation. The terrace in the Orangery garden and the Apothecaries’ court are available as outdoor areas conveniently connected through direct access points to the ground-level, barrier-free site.

Meet and feast in a fascinating architectural setting

The largest room, the Maria Theresa, was once used as wintering accommodation for the rare citron trees. Its slightly curving form and arcade lend themselves to manifold ways of planning and designing your events.

Two screens ensure excellent visibility during the presentations at conferences, which can accommodate up to two hundred people. Numerous lighting options – including four elegant chandeliers – can be separately regulated to create the perfect atmosphere. Large double doors open up the view towards the Baroque Orangery garden, where the forecourt terrace can be integrated into your event.

The adjacent Habsburg Room is very popular as an extension for additional programme items, also for civil marriage ceremonies.

Dinner

Festive occasions are ideal opportunities for the Maria Theresa Room to unfold all its  brilliance as a setting. It can seat up to 160 people. The adjacent Habsburg Room can be used as buffet extension or bar area. Thanks to the magical atmosphere of the Orangery garden terrace, guests love to linger there to round off an unforgettable evening.

Trade Fairs and Exhibitions

For trade fairs and exhibitions, the Maria Theresa Room is ideal as a presentation area with incomparable style. The combination with the Orangery garden foyer or the Spitzhof foyer creates spacious areas for trade fairs and exhibitors that are ground-level and barrier-free, providing unrestricted access for all guests.

Light-flooded place in the sun

The Sisi Room offers accommodation for conferences of up to eighty persons, its central location making it ideal for coordinating with other rooms. A room where all stress is assuaged, thanks to the view through large window onto the fountain and trees in the Apothekerhof.

Central meeting point

This is the smallest of our rooms and makes groups with fewer participants feel especially at home. Its special charm lies in the direct access to the green outdoors in the Spitzhof, unusual in its design as a Japanese garden. Besides being a classical seminar facility, it is also frequently used for press conferences and as organisation office.

The fascination of a vaulted room

Located directly in the Apoketherhof, the light-flooded Franz Joseph Room is ideal for conferences of up to 120 persons. The aura of history is tangibly present in this fascinating space with its groin vaulting and the historical window shutters. The “Glasaula” – the “glass hall” – provides a wonderful setting for catering in the breaks or to round off the evening. In fine weather we are happy to open up the Apothecaries’ court for you.

Meet and treat

Besides use as a classical conference room, the Maximilian Room is also optimal as an enlarged break or exhibition area. Four connecting doors provide access to the Spitzhof foyer. And concealed behind a rolling door is a bar area you can integrate at will.
