Apothekertrakt

Rooms

A place for encounters of an extraordinary kind!

Historic atmosphere for modern ideas

The Apothekertrakt on the east side of the Schönbrunn grounds offers you manifold options as a versatile event centre. It is the ideal setting  not only for meetings and conferences, but also exhibitionstrade fairsdinnersand weddings.

The ten rooms differ in size and flair and are all connected by spacious, light-flooded break areas. What is so impressive about them is the harmonious interplay between historical building substance and modern adaptation. The terrace in the Orangery garden and the Apothecaries’ court are available as outdoor areas conveniently connected through direct access points to the ground-level, barrier-free site.

Maria Theresia

The largest room, the Maria Theresa, was once used as wintering accommodation for the rare citron trees. Its slightly curving form and arcade lend themselves to manifold ways of planning and designing your events.

Habsburg

The adjacent Habsburg Room is very popular as an extension for additional programme items, also for civil marriage ceremonies.

Sisi

The Sisi Room offers accommodation for conferences of up to thirty persons, its central location making it ideal for coordinating with other rooms. A room where all stress is assuaged, thanks to the view through large window onto the fountain and trees in the Apothekerhof.

Leopold

The Leopold Room is separated from the Sophie Room by a mobile wall and can be used on its own or combined to create a large room.

Rudolf

This is the smallest of our rooms and makes groups with fewer participants feel especially at home. Its special charm lies in the direct access to the green outdoors in the Spitzhof, unusual in its design as a Japanese garden. Besides being a classical seminar facility, it is also frequently used for press conferences and as organisation office.

Franz Joseph

Located directly in the Apoketherhof, the light-flooded Franz Joseph Room is ideal for conferences of up to 30 persons. The aura of history is tangibly present in this fascinating space with its groin vaulting and the historical window shutters.

Franz Stephan

The Franz Stephan Room is a seminar facility in classical design and set-up, together with the Marie Antoinette Room forming the east end of the Apothekertrakt.

Marie Antoinette

The Marie Antoinette Room is a seminar facility in classical design and set-up, together with the Franz Stephan Room forming the east end of the Apothekertrakt.

Sophie

The Sophie Room is separated from the Leopold Room by a mobile wall and can be used on its own or combined with the Leopold Room.

Maximilian

Besides use as a classical conference room, the Maximilian Room is also optimal as an enlarged break or exhibition area. Four connecting doors provide access to the Spitzhof foyer. And concealed behind a rolling door is a bar area you can integrate at will.

Orangery Garden Foyer

The Orangerie garden foyer avails of direct access both to the Orangery garden and to the Apothekerhof. Two adjacent lounge areas provide extra scope for relaxation.

'Lion' Break Area

Because of its proximity to the Maria Theresa Room, the small “Lion” break area is popular as a buffet area.

'Glasaula' Break Area

The “Glasaula” – “the glass hall” –  is situated in the centre of the Apothekertrakt and can be used by the surrounding rooms as a break area with direct access to the Apothekerhof.

Spitzhof Foyer

The Spitzhof foyer was completed in 2014, its inimitable atmosphere making it ideal for exclusive receptions.

Apothecaries' Court

Even on hot days the shade of chestnut and lime trees offers a cool haven at break-time, where the splashing of a fountain soothes the senses.

Orangery Garden Terrace

The Orangery garden terrace is directly accessible from the Maria Theresa Room and the Orangery garden foyer.
